Roof Box & Rack

Privacy notice

How Roof Box & Rack handles website requests, Cloudflare Web Analytics, product images and email enquiries.

This notice explains how Roof Box & Rack handles visitor information.

Data on this website

There is no account registration or newsletter. The setup finder and roof-load calculator run in your browser; their entries are not sent to us or stored by these tools.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Requests necessarily pass technical information such as an IP address, requested page and browser details to the hosting service. Cloudflare's privacy policy explains its handling of information.

Website analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, popular pages, referring websites and page performance. Its browser script sends page-view and performance information to Cloudflare so we can improve the website. It does not receive the answers you enter into the setup finder or roof-load calculator.

Cloudflare states that Web Analytics does not use cookies, local storage or browser fingerprinting to identify visitors, and does not track individuals across websites. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics information and data collection documentation for details.

Product images and shopping links

Product images load from Amazon's media service. Your browser therefore makes requests to Amazon when those images display. Shopping links take you to the retailer, where the retailer's privacy and cookie policies apply. Our affiliate identifier tells Amazon which site referred the visit. We do not receive your payment details or order contents through these links.

Enquiries and changes

You can contact us at [email protected] about the website or an article. If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and any information you choose to include. We use that information to respond, investigate corrections and keep a relevant record of the enquiry. Please send only the information needed and avoid sensitive personal or payment details.

The contact form collects your name, email address, enquiry type, message and any page address you choose to supply. We save the enquiry in a Cloudflare-hosted database before sending an email notification to our editorial inbox. Notifications use your email address as Reply-To so we can respond to you. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards messages sent to our published address to that inbox.

Cloudflare Turnstile protects the form against spam. It processes browser and connection information to check whether a submission is legitimate. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy information. The form also uses a hidden spam-trap field and validates submissions on the server. We do not use enquiry details for advertising or marketing.

We do not add email correspondents to a marketing list. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for the enquiry and any relevant record-keeping obligations. You can use the same address to ask about information you have provided or to request its correction or deletion, subject to applicable obligations.

This notice will be updated when other contact services or data processing are introduced.
